October GNYHA-UHF Symposium to Highlight Opioid Epidemic

On October 30, GNYHA and the United Hospital Fund (UHF) will hold the 29th Annual Symposium on Health Care Services in New York: Research and Practice, in collaboration with major health services organizations in the metropolitan New York region. The Symposium is an annual gathering for providers, policymakers, and researchers to discuss innovative and emerging work that will impact care delivery of care and the promotion of health in the New York region. The Symposium will be held at the CUNY Graduate Center in Manhattan from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., with registration and a poster session beginning at 8:30 a.m.

Andrew Kolodny, MD, Co-Director, Opioid Policy Research, Heller School for Social Policy and Management, Brandeis University, will deliver the keynote address. Dr. Kolodny’s primary focus area is the prescription opioid and heroin crisis that is devastating families and communities across the country. The Symposium will also include a panel session on health care services in New York, with details to be announced.

A poster session will highlight important research and program evaluations that are influencing delivery system and quality improvement strategies in the region. Registration information is available on the UHF website.
