GNYHA’s Clinician Wellness Advisory Group held its inaugural meeting last week. Comprised of health care leaders dedicated to improving clinician well-being across GNYHA’s membership, the group shares promising practices and regional and national solutions. Jonathan Ripp, MD, Chief Wellness Officer at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, chairs the group. Dr. Ripp also co-chairs the Collaborative for Healing and Renewal in Medicine, a national group of medical educators who champion well-being efforts in training programs. Other Advisory Group members are involved with the well-being efforts of the Accreditation Council of Graduate Medical Education and the National Academy of Medicine, among other professional societies.
Advisory Group members shared how their various institutions address clinician wellness and discussed potential focus areas for the group over the next year. The Advisory Group complements other GNYHA well-being initiatives, including the quarterly Wellness Workgroup and other specialized training and programming.
