GNYHA hosted The Schwartz Center for Compassionate Healthcare’s Facilitation Workshop on October 15 and 16. More than 65 health care providers from across the nation—including 37 GNYHA member hospitals that are actively engaged Schwartz Center members—attended. The workshop included sessions on What is Compassionate Care? and Essential Schwartz Rounds Facilitation Skills, with Orange Regional Medical Center and NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi representatives performing a live demonstration.

The Schwartz Center provides education, training, and support resources to hundreds of health care providers seeking to preserve the human connection in health care delivery and build resiliency in a workforce that provides care with empathy and compassion. GNYHA has collaborated with The Schwartz Center since 2016.
GNYHA provides member hospitals with the financial support to maintain their Schwartz Center memberships. 54 GNYHA hospitals are Schwartz Center members, including five that began their affiliation this year.
