September 9, 2019

On November 19, GNYHA and the United Hospital Fund (UHF) will hold the 30th Annual Symposium on Health Care Services in New York: Research and Practice, in collaboration with major health services organizations from the metropolitan New York region. The annual Symposium brings together providers, policymakers, and researchers to discuss innovative and emerging work that will impact the delivery of care and the promotion of health in the New York region. The Symposium will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the CUNY Graduate Center in Manhattan, with registration and a poster session beginning at 8:30 a.m.

Registration information is available on the UHF website.

Drew Altman, PhD, President & CEO, the Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation, will deliver the keynote address. Dr. Altman will discuss the current state of the health care system, various “Medicare for All” proposals, including the specific insurance issues each seeks to address, and how implementing such a policy might impact the overall delivery system. A panel discussion will address what consumers, providers, researchers, and policymakers want from the post-acute care delivery system, and how to best integrate providers into accountable care and care coordination strategies.

The poster session will highlight some of the important research and program evaluations that are influencing delivery system and quality improvement strategies in the area.
