GNYHA and United Hospital Fund (UHF) are proud to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Clinical Quality Fellowship Program (CQFP), a unique opportunity for clinicians to gain quality improvement expertise. On behalf of GNYHA President Kenneth E. Raske and UHF President Anthony Shih, MD, we thank the hospitals and health systems that have contributed greatly to CQFP’s success.
Supported by a UHF grant, the 15-month fellowship program includes both didactic and experiential learning. Fellows are required to lead a quality improvement capstone project under the guidance of an expert mentor from the program. The 23 physicians and six nurses who comprise the 10th CQFP class began their journey in January 2018 and will complete the program in April 2019. Over the past decade, more than 200 physicians and nurses have participated in CQFP, and many have gone on to become quality leaders in their organizations.
In recognition of this 10-year milestone, we asked some of the program leadership, faculty, and former fellows to share what CQFP has meant to them. This is the first in a three video series about CQFP, the value of mentorship, and the importance of the capstone project.
